Many individuals or families choose to not involve insurance companies for therapeutic services. Private pay therapy sessions do not limit you to a diagnosis or a set number of sessions. Many plans do not cover individual, couples/relational, family therapy, or group. A diagnosis is needed if you use insurance. This becomes a part of your permanent health record. Insurance companies have full rights to all your records.
Collaboratively, we will work as a team to decide how often to attend therapy; not the insurance companies. The final advantage relates to session availability. A person seeking counseling is ready now to work on current concern at hand. Private pay has the flexibility to get you access to my professional therapeutic services much sooner.
(IMPORTANT: Fees can be very uncomfortable/awkward to inquire or talk about when it comes to our wellness and mental health. I like to remain transparent in this conversation and I hope by clearly putting things out there and being upfront, that we can work together in figuring out what fees work best for you on your journey. I came into this profession to support others and community in healing together.)

For those who wish to take advantage of their PPO insurance coverage, a Superbill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement. This brings your total out of pocket costs down, allowing you the ability to see the professional of your choice. Please note: A formal diagnosis is required for insurance.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
No charges will occur for appointments cancelled 24 hours or more prior to appointment date and time. Session fees will be charged for No-Shows or Late Cancellations. Voicemail is available 24 hours a day; and messages are checked daily. Let me know in advance if you are unable to make session or if something comes up. I strive to be open and transparent to meet your needs in your healing process.
If you are deciding you would like to work together, here is how you can go about checking to see if your insurance partially or fully covers out of network services:
I am located in The Waters at Creekside complex across from The Anti-Lab Mall in Costa Mesa, California. When you pull into the complex, continue driving until you are able to make the first left. You are welcome to park anywhere around building J, as my office is located up the right set of stairs. Once you have walked up the stairs, my office door is immediately right, on the corner of the second floor.
*I would like to acknowledge that the building that I am located in was historically grandfathered in, meaning, this building structure is not ADA accessible. I acknowledge that this limits and privileges able bodies over others who may need additional support. Please contact me to discuss this further, as I am willing to collaborate on how I can best support you whether this support is through telehealth services online or connecting you with a service provider with ADA accessibility. My sincere warm apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Reaching out for support can be a confusing, scary, tiring, and difficult experience. It can also be challenging or intimidating if this is your first time. Here is a brief break down of how the process works when reaching our for services with me:
